Design Consultation

During this in-person consulation (up to 2 hours), we will discuss your objectives and what you hope to accomplish with your project. We will walk through your house and determine your basic needs, wants and desires for each room.

Purpose:

• for you to ask as many questions about designing your place as you'd like.
• for us to give you as many design ideas & suggestions as possible, specific to your space.
• for you to take those suggestions and implement as you see fit.

NOTE: If you decide that you would rather have us do the design work for you, we have options that we can discuss with you at the time of the consulation.

What to Expect:

• Your Consult can take up-to 2 hours depending on the complexity of your project. (If the full 2 hours is not used, it is forfeited. Any amount of time over 2 hours is subject to our hourly rate billed to the nearest 15mins.)
• We will discuss your objectives and what you hope to accomplish with your project.
• We will walk-through your house and determine your basic needs, wants and desires for each room. (please have a notepad to take notes along the way)
• We will discuss your intentions to proceed with the project and the different services we provide. If you wish to hire our services to develop and implement your project, we will review our 'Letter of Agreement' outlining our process and procedures.

Topics for Discussion:

• Suggestions for paint colours.
• Suggestions for surface materials, colours & placement for flooring, countertop, tile, etc. (GENERALIZED).
• Selection of specific surface materials provided there are samples on site to choose from (Note: Other than paint swatches, we do not carry samples with us).
• Suggestions for placement of furniture and accessories.
• Suggestions for new furniture and accessories.
• Suggestions for items to be removed, added or moved to another space.

Disclaimer:

• DI is not responsible for incorrect paint colour matching from the colours that have been suggested.
• DI is not responsible for final product and colour choices, this is ultimately the choice of the client. We always recommend getting a paint sample pot, putting it on a piece of poster/bristle board and taping it to your wall to see it in different lights. Also make sure you move it to different walls in the space and around the house.
• DI is not responsible for the length of time it takes to complete your project.
• DI is not responsible for the price associated with suggested materials, furniture and accessories.
